The series “Into the World” is a whimsical environment with narrative qualities. While each painting has its own story, the series is also about the relationship between each painting. Together, they create a microcosmic universe with its own mode of logic and rules. Thus, the characters relate in ways that wouldn’t necessarily happen in the real world. Where else for example - would a heron write an apology letter to a goldfish?
The images and ideas presented in the series range from simple observations of daily life to personal journal entries and dreams. Though the series has a narrative quality, it was deliberately arranged non-linear manner, so that the viewer can move through it as they please. This format gives the viewer enough information to understand the pieces, but leaves enough room for each person to experience it in their own way.
